GDAHC Congratulates Dr. Steve Grant on Being Named One of Crain's 2020 Healthcare Heros
GDAHC *salutes* GDAHC Board Chair, Dr. Steven Grant on his decades-long, pioneering career and his extraordinary service to the community.

GDAHC is proud to announce that our Board Chair, Steve Grant, M.D., has been named one of Crain's 2020 Healthcare Heros. We couldn't think of a more deserving person to receive one of these distinctions. Many of you may know Steve, but we can assure you that you don't know him like we do!

Steve has been a practicing physician for over 40 years and has been integral to the vitality of GDAHC for well over a decade. In his time with us he has played a decisive role in a number of our programs, always lending his expertise, innovative vision, and essential strategic thinking. His efforts have helped us to address obesity, diabetes, and other chronic diseases; expand and connect community paramedic services; confront the opioid crisis and meet the needs of people and families struggling with Substance Use Disorder; educate on ER use and health care costs.

In 2007, Steve was influential in establishing GDAHC's A first in Michigan, is a multipayer provider performance report. Patients can use the website to review reports on physician organizations' quality and key outcomes. It not only empowers patients to make the best decisions for them and their families, but encourages physicians and POs to provide high-quality, competent care to their patients. To this day, continues to be the only statewide patient-centered provider performance report of its kind.

Steve is GDAHC's first practicing physician to serve as Board Chair. Even before he assumed this role, Steve has gifted us with his observant and judicious leadership. He played central roles in our Aligning Forces for Quality and Save Lives, Save Dollars initiatives, both sought to address coordinate systems of care and reduce total health care costs. Steve has lead us through many good times and tough times, he is truly a pioneer and we owe much of our recent successes to him.

GDAHC's Vice President of Program Partnership, Lisa Mason says, "[she has] always been honored and privileged to work with you and have always been proud, when introducing people to GDAHC, to tell them you are our leader and supporter. You are an awesome spokesperson for many meaningful and worthy organizations..." And, Lisa is correct, not only does Steve help us out, but he also serves as an active member of the TIPAAA board and serves in leadership on the board for the Holocaust Center in Farmington Hills, MI.

We are always in awe of Steve's tireless efforts to improve the community.

Congratulations to Steve Grant and all the other Crain's 2020 Healthcare Heros! Read the full list on Crain's.
