We Need to Talk about Israel (Virtually)! | June 4 Update
Why the Six-Day War still matters. Plus—The secret code of women’s prayer. We’re curating virtual content from national and local experts on everything Israel.

During the coronavirus pandemic, the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati remains committed to helping our community engage with Israel. While we cannot gather as we normally would for our We Need to Talk series this year, we are offering some online programs to continue the conversation. Also, we want to share some programs about Israel, hosted by our national partner organizations, which you might also find interesting. So whether you are at home, strolling through the park, or connecting with friends via Zoom, dig into the discussion with us!

Here are a couple of webinars we’re looking forward to:

Friday, June 5: The Six-Day War: Why It Still Matters 53 Years Later. Hear from David Harris, the CEO of AJC, during this week’s Advocacy Anywhere series.

Monday, June 8: The prayers of generations of Jewish mothers and grandmothers, reflecting their longings and feelings, are being rediscovered. Men and women alike are adopting women’s prayers at moments of joy and in times of grief, in private devotion, and in congregational services. In our “Secret Code” webinar, explore how and why Jewish women’s prayers are at the center of a cultural reawakening, being set to music, recited, and dramatized.

You can register for any of the events above simply by clicking on the hyperlink with the title.

In addition to these, there are plenty of other opportunities to learn something new. Check out the full calendar of virtual offerings, all related to the work of the JCRC.

We hope you and your family are healthy and well, and we look forward to a time we can gather and have these conversations in person.
