Summary of Role:

IFF’s Diversity & Inclusion Intern will assist in the advancement our mission of fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. The D&I Intern will work collaboratively with our D&I Team, supporting our Global Diversity & Inclusion Manager and to help drive our 2020 strategic priorities related to diversity and inclusion. The D&I Intern, while playing a key role in ensuring that our colleagues understand IFF’s commitment to diversity and inclusion; will have the opportunity to learn how to navigate a global organization and apply inclusion practices in a globally consistent, locally relevant way.


  • Support the drafting of internal and external communications to continue to share IFF’s diversity & inclusion strategy.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity Award, Global EDGE Certification, and Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index; as well as other identified certifications/awards.
  • Identify certifications/awards in the Diversity & Inclusion space that are based outside of the United States and/or are internationally focused.
  • Assist with creating educational programs that supports IFF’s colleagues in their Inclusion Competency development.
  • Conduct research on best practices for implementing the UN’s Women Empower Principles, UN’s LGBTI Standards for Business, Disability:IN’s Disability Equality Index.
  • Identify additional sources from which the company can source diverse talent; career fairs, professional organizations, etc.
  • Engage with Colleague Community (Employee Resource Group) Leaders to understand their needs and challenges; investigate best practices to meet their needs and overcome their challenges.
