Springfield Township Fire Dept. Fills First Truck Of Hurricane Relief Supplies

Springfield Township Firefighters have graciously accepted your donations throughout the week for hurricane victims. Donations of water, canned food and cleaning supplies have filled the first truckload in less than a week! The truck will soon head to Matthews 25 Ministries, where they will distribute the items to families in great need.

We thank you for your donations and encourage residents to keep them coming. The Springfield Township Fire Department will continue to accept non-perishable donations through the date of the  Fire Department Open House Event scheduled for October 7, 2017. Donations are accepted at the main firehouse, located at 9150 Winton Road during the hours of 8am-8pm, any day of the week. (Cash donations are not accepted at this location.)

The items in desperate need include:

• Non-Perishable Food: PULL TOP canned vegetables, fruits etc.; ready to eat dry goods such as nuts, peanut butter, dried fruits, granola and trail mixes, jerky, ready to eat snacks; bottled water; ready- to-eat meals or MREs etc.

• Personal Care Products: Antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, lotion etc.

• Cleaning supplies: Laundry detergents, general cleaner, sponges, bleach (powdered form is preferred), mops, scrub brushes, buckets, rubber gloves etc.

• Paper products: Toilet paper, paper towels etc.

• Baby and infant supplies: Wipes, diaper rash ointment, baby wash, baby shampoo, baby lotion etc. (Diapers are NOT needed at this time)

• First-Aid items: Bandages, gauze, pads, first aid tape, antiseptic creams, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, latex gloves, instant cold packs etc.
