Coat Drive To Support St Vincent de Paul

New and gently used coats will be accepted at drop-off locations around the Cincinnati area, including the Springfield Township Fire Department/Administration Office, 9150 Winton Road, as part of the WLWT News 5 Coat Drive to support of families in need through St. Vincent DePaul.  Donating a coat you no longer use or buying a new one can make a big impact on someone's life.

“No parent wants to face the day that they cannot keep their growing children warm, but that is a reality for many families every winter in Cincinnati,” said Mike Dunn, executive director of St. Vincent de Paul - Cincinnati. “For some families, a clean, warm coat is a luxury that can be taken for granted. We are grateful to our partners and the many local businesses that are collecting winter coats to help us meet this critical need,” said Dunn.

Last year, approximately 2,600 coats were distributed. This year, the goal is to provide 3,000 coats to children and adults. Extra-large coats are needed most. Coats will be collected through Jan. 5th.

Coats will also be collected at Springfield Township's WInterFest event. WinterFest will be held December 1st from 1-7pm. Admission to the event is the donation of a coat, canned good or new, unwrapped toy.
