Humbert’s Meats, Now Open In Their New Space … Just Down The Road

“Our customers are at the heart of our business.” Humbert’s Meats business owners and brothers, Scott and Mike Dobenmerkle reflect on their big move… just down the road. “We’ve grown relationships here in Springfield Township. We know all of our customers, and their family’s family.”

(Left to Right) Scott, George and Mike Dobenmerkle own the family business, Humbert's.

The two excitedly opened the doors of their brand-new store, located at 9211 Winton Road on Saturday, April 21st. The family business, first opened by their father George Dobenmerkle has served families in the original location at the United Dairy Farmers (UDF) plaza on Winton Road since 1979. UDF’s plans for reinvestment in a new 5,678 sq ft store gave the Dobenmerkle’s the opportunity to bring a fresh look and feel to the family run business.

The brothers were certain they wanted to stay in Springfield Township. They decided upon the perfect space; a newly built two-tenant retail building. Papa John’s moved into the first half of the building last year. Scott shared, “Everything in the new location is modern and bright. We think our customers will like our new space as much as we do.” To Trustee Joe Honerlaw, it’s all about keeping that hometown feel, right here at home, “Humbert’s has been a part of our community fabric for 39 years. They provide a great service and value to the community. We are proud to have them in the township.”

Since the first Humbert’s Meats opened in 1964, they have been providing quality meat, fish, poultry and lamb to families throughout the area. Their in-store deli offers a wide variety of U.S.D.A choice beef cuts, premium pork selections, fresh and frozen fish specials, veal and lamb, Amish poultry, cheeses and produce. They also offer professional catering services for any occasion. Their hours are Monday thru Friday, 8am-6pm, Saturdays 8am-5pm and Sundays, 8am-2pm. Call ahead orders are welcome. The Winton Road Humbert's Meats phone number is 931-3324.

The existing UDF site is set for demolition by the end of April, with construction to immediately follow. Depending on weather, they plan to open near the end of 2018. The new UDF will be located further back off Winton to improve traffic flow. Additional gas pumps and outdoor seating will be added.
