Federal Community Development Grant

February 5, 2018

Colerain Township announced today that it is the recipient of a three-year, $300,000 Federal Community Development Grant for 2018 thru 2020. Interim Township Administrator, Geoff Milz, indicated that in 2018 the Township will receive $ 50,000 for capital improvements to the Colerain Senior Center that includes upgrades to the kitchen and restrooms, and $ 25,000 for a Strategic Investment Plan for the Northbrook subdivision that will articulate a Redevelopment Plan for this area.

In 2019, the Township will receive $ 75,000 for a Revolving Sidewalk Maintenance Fund and $ 50,000 for the acquisition and demolition of blighted properties throughout the Township.

In the final year of the federal grant, there will be an additional $ 75,000 toward sidewalk maintenance, and $ 25,000 for acquisition and demolition of other blighted properties.

“This $ 300,000 federal grant will greatly enhance Colerain Township’s plans for the revitalization of our older neighborhoods,” noted Mr. Milz, “and to better serve our senior citizens through the upgrades to our Senior Center.”
