We miss seeing our Vets!
We're still working to provide resources!

Even though we can't get together for coffee and donuts right now, we haven't stopped thinking about our Vets. We hope you are staying safe and keeping in touch with one another. It's important these days to have someone to connect with and keep our spirits lifted.

For those of you who have fought in our past wars and sacrificed so much for our country, wearing a mask and keeping social distance seems like so little for us to do right now to keep one another safe.

As a reminder, our local Benefits Field Representative is Chuck Howson.  He can be reached at 859-325-8288 or by email:

For anyone that might be looking for work or transitioning from military back to the private sector, the military has added several new tools for you. Visit the website at At the top of the page you'll see a tab for "Veterans Jobs," in the drop down menu under that tab, select "Military Skills Translator." Complete the information regarding your military service and submit to see jobs that may be available to you. The service is nationwide and will provide details of any additional education you may need.

If you have not visited, please take the time to explore the site and check out the many different options for you and your family to take advantage of, from retail discounts to benefit connections.

Here at the Marion County Public Library we remain vigilant in doing what we can to keep each other and our patrons safe and healthy.  We hope to be able to welcome our Vets back as a group soon.  Stay well!
