ArtsConnect Accepting Letters of Interest To Become Its Next New Board Member

ArtsConnect, a non-profit partner of Springfield Township which brings art education and over 25 annual events to the community, is now accepting letters of interest and resumes from individuals interested in becoming a board member. Board members serve an important role, creating the best experiences for Springfield Township residents and visitors to enjoy.

ArtsConnect board members attend monthly meetings to set the schedule of events, plan engaging community activities, make fiduciary decisions, fundraise, award scholarships and provide recommendations that shape the future. Although not required, most board members attend events to support the programming needs.

With a goal of reaching more diverse audiences and meeting the new demand for online engagement, ArtsConnect is specifically seeking candidates who have experience in running virtual events, engaging schools, and/or reaching minority populations. Applicants should be a Springfield Township resident or local business leader with a passion for the arts.

To apply for a board position, send a letter of intent and resume to ArtsConnect at artsinfo@springfieldtwp.org or to ArtsConnect at 9150 Winton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Letters of interest and resumes will be accepted until the position is filled. For questions regarding the responsibilities of a board member or to learn more about ArtsConnect, call Kimberlee Flamm at 522-2108.

More About ArtsConnect:

Sharing a philosophy that where arts flourish, communities prosper and lives are enriched, the Springfield Township Board of Trustees passed a resolution on September 26, 2012, authorizing the creation of a 501(c)3 Arts and Enrichment Council. By establishing the Arts and Enrichment Council, the community benefits with better access to the arts, expanded public events, a renewed public image, a more connected community, and increased economic interest for development in the township.

The Arts & Enrichment Council received its official non-profit status in 2014 and now operates under the name of ArtsConnect. ArtsConnect manages the Springfield Township Arts Center, located at 9158 Winton Road.

The organization is a sustaining resource for arts and enrichment opportunities. Signature ArtsConnect events include the Daddy Daughter Dance, Mom Prom, ArtLocal Art Show, Family Entertainment Series, Summertime Concerts and theater presentations.  In addition to events, ArtsConnectâ„¢ facilitates art classes for children and adults, a full-time summer camp and community volunteer projects. ArtsConnect is responsible for the Charley Harper banners along Winton Road and the Creatress mural at Brentwood Bowl.

ArtsConnect has 6 board members, with one additional position open. Four board members are required to be Township employees and three serve as volunteer members.
